Man City fans could see many of their heroes leave the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It has already been confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne will leave Man City this summer, while the future of Ederson is almost certain to be away from the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola plans to revamp his midfield this summer with new signings such as AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders closing in on a move to the Manchester club, which is the area of the pitch where the biggest changes will occur ahead of the new season.

Signings such as the Dutch star will cast doubt over the futures of stars such as Bernardo Silva, and one of City’s players has now travelled to Turkey to discuss a potential move away from the Premier League.

Galatasaray have held talks with Ilkay Gundogan

It was recently reported that Man City are willing to let Gundogan go this summer, and it seems that the German star has taken action over his future as the 34-year-old has met with Turkish giants Galatasaray this week.

According to Galatasaray insider Ali Naci Kucuk, the Man City star arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday night ahead of holding talks with the Turkish champions on Thursday about a potential move.

Turkish press can often go over the top when it comes to transfer news, however, Ali Naci Kucuk has a very close relationship with Galatasaray, which makes this update on Gundogan a worrying one for Man City fans who want to see the midfielder remain at the Etihad Stadium next season.

Gundogan wants to stay at Man City for the 2025/26 campaign, but that may change as midfield signings start to arrive at the Manchester club.

Galatasaray is one club the German star would be very keen on joining as the Turkish giants are the team the 34-year-old used to support as a boy.

Ilkay Gundogan has always dreamed of playing for Galatasaray

Manchester City News previously reported that Gundogan dreams of playing for Galatasaray one day, as doing so would fulfil a boyhood dream.

Both of the midfielder’s parents are Turkish, and if any club had the ability to lure the 34-year-old away from Manchester this summer, it would be the current Super Lig champions.

Since moving to Man City in 2016 as part of a £21m deal with Borussia Dortmund, before rejoining the club again from Barcelona for free in 2024 after a year away, Gundogan has become a hero at the Manchester club and will follow the likes of David Silva and Kevin De Bruyne into the Premier League side’s Hall of Fame.

City fans would love to have the 34-year-old around again next season, but the coming few weeks will tell whether the veteran star’s time at the Etihad is up
