Manchester City youngster Adedire Mebude scored an incredible goal for the Scotland U21s in their 3-2 defeat to the Sweden U21s.

But the 18-year-old was making his first start for his national team and stole the headlines with a strike worth applauding.

As shared by the Scotland National Team’s Twitter handle, Manchester City talent Adedire Mebude kickstarted his goal with an elite first touch before ghosting past a pair of Sweden U21s defender before rifling the ball into the back of the net.

For City fans that are probably all smiles after seeing the scintillating solo goal, they would perhaps be buzzing to see that it was Lewis Fiorini, who is another wonderkid at the club get credited with the assist.

A goal that was made within the Sky Blues’ academy indeed.

Considering Adedire Medude has been billed as one of the most gifted youngsters at Manchester City since his arrival from Rangers in 2020, his goal for the Scotland U21s is indicative of what he brings to the table.

Exceptional 1v1 ability, a frightening degree of directness and bags of pace; the teenager has it all.

Could Mebude be the winger the Sky Blues desperately need?

For starters, it is key to emphasise that while Jack Grealish and Phil Foden have been in form in recent weeks, the pair are more suited to playing in more central positions.

Especially Grealish from a form perspective, as he has discussed the secret behind his top displays.

Considering Manchester City lack a 1v1 threat with speed and directness within their ranks, perhaps Adedire Mebude could be the answer, as he showcased for Scotland with his goal against Sweden.

Then again, it is likely that City target a more established wideman in the summer as it would be too much pressure on the young talent to shoulder the burden in a key area of the pitch that aims to win it all.
