The FA Cup final is on the horizon for Manchester City as Pep Guardiola’s men will travel to Wembley next weekend to take on Crystal Palace.

As a singular match, the contest is arguably City’s biggest of the season, although as a goal for the campaign, qualifying for the Champions League is more important, which the Manchester club can take a big step towards on Saturday with a win over Southampton.

It has been an underwhelming campaign for the Premier League giants, and a big reason for that was the knee injury suffered by Rodri at the start of the campaign.

In recent weeks, Erling Haaland has been on the sidelines for Man City and ahead of the FA Cup final next weekend, the Norwegian superstar has now revealed if he will be ready to take part in the contest at Wembley.

Erling Haaland is ready to return to Man City action

Haaland has been out of action with an ankle injury since Man City’s win over Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-final at the end of March.

The Norwegian returned to the bench for City’s match with Wolves last Friday night at the Etihad and was an unused substitute, which Tim Sherwood commented on by stating that Haaland could cause problems for Guardiola, seeing as the Manchester club are on a run of nine unbeaten matches.

With the FA Cup final just over a week away, Haaland has now made it clear that he will be ready to face Crystal Palace, admitting that he feels good.

“It was horrible to be injured, but what can you do?,” Haaland told ESPN about his injury. “You have to recover as quickly as you can and to come back as fit as you can. Now I’m back with loads of energy.

“I’m feeling good and moving good and I’m ready.”

Guardiola needs to play Haaland against Southampton on Saturday as the striker needs to regain some sharpness ahead of the FA Cup final, and it is expected that the 24-year-old will feature at some stage during City’s trip to St Mary’s Stadium.

The Norwegian will be looking to add more goals to his tally for the season, a campaign that has not been good enough from the superstar’s point of view

Erling Haaland has not been good enough this season

Jamie Carragher thinks Haaland has been Man City’s best player this season, however, that is not a statement the 24-year-old seems keen to share.

Haaland has admitted that the current campaign he has not been good enough and that he hasn’t helped the team as much as he did throughout the two other seasons he has spent in Manchester.

“Of course, you can find excuses, injuries, many injuries at bad times, but in the end we haven’t been performing well enough,” Haaland told ESPN.

“We haven’t had fully the hunger inside of us. I haven’t been good enough. I haven’t helped the team enough. In the end, we haven’t been good enough.”

Although Haaland is disappointed with his displays this season, the Norway international has still scored plenty of goals, which the 24-year-old will look to add to in the FA Cup final and the FIFA Club World Cup.
