Kyle Walker’s legendary career at Man City is set to come to an end upon the conclusion of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 34-year-old has been with the Manchester club since 2017, and under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, the Englishman is viewed as one of the greatest right-backs to ever play in the Premier League, having won everything at the Etihad Stadium.

In search of a new challenge, Walker moved to AC Milan on loan in January, however, it remains to be seen whether the Italian giants will make the deal a permanent one.

Either way, the defender is set to leave City this summer, and in order to replace the club legend, the Premier League giants have drawn up a list of four players, which includes one of the best right-backs in the English top flight this season.

Man City showing interest in Newcastle’s Tino Livramento

Replacing Walker is a difficult task for Man City this summer as the 34-year-old has been a staple in Guardiola’s team for years, while the England international was also a huge figure in the dressing room at the Etihad.

In order to do so, Man City have drawn up a four-man list of right-back targets, reports Fabrizio Romano, who states that Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is one of the names the Manchester club are targeting.

The transfer expert states that Walker is 100 per cent leaving Man City at the end of the season and that Guardiola hopes to have a decision made on his replacement before the FIFA Club World Cup gets underway in June.

It was reported last week that Man City are pushing to bring Flamengo’s Wesley to Manchester ahead of the new season as Guardiola now prefers the Brazilian star over Newcastle’s Livramento.

These two full-backs seem like City’s top targets for the role, but the Premier League giants have others, as Guardiola continues to prepare for a revamp at the Etihad Stadium ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Man City’s other right-back targets

Liverpool and Man United are also in the race for Wesley, who will cost clubs £30m this summer, should the Brazilian complete a move to the Premier League.

This makes things a little tricky for Man City, while a deal for Livramento will be very hard to get over the line as the 22-year-old is a crucial part of Eddie Howe’s squad, while the right-back also has a contract at St James’ Park until 2028.

Man City have also shown interest in Jeremie Frimpong in the build-up to the summer window as the Netherlands star is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen over the coming weeks. Liverpool also have a strong attraction to the defender, while it is also unclear if the player wants to return to Manchester.

All four are very solid options for Guardiola, while they also have their complications. It remains to be seen who replaces Walker at Man City, and whoever does has a lot to live up to.
