Man City fans say they could make a ‘world-class’ signing after hearing Fabrizio Romano’s latest update

After securing their place in next season’s Champions League, Manchester City have left themselves in a position to still be able to attract top players despite having a disappointing season by their own lofty standards.

Tijjani Reijnders is keen to join Manchester City in the summer — which goes to show that several players across world football still have faith in the Sky Blues’ project.

Manchester City have admired Rayan Ait-Nouri for ages and Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they have enquired about signing the Algerian left-back now.

It seems like Pep Guardiola’s men intend to strengthen the full-back position this summer, with Tino Livramento being on Manchester City’s radar as well.

City fans are excited about the prospect of Ait-Nouri playing his football at the Etihad Stadium in the following campaign.

Man City fans buzzing about Rayan Ait-Nouri interest

One fan reacted to Manchester City’s interest in the Wolves defender by writing: “Ait-Nouri is a great choice, Manchester City. Engine!”

A second supporter also claimed that the Algerian would be an incredible addition: “Would be an amazing signing IMO. Really hope we get him.”

A third Manchester City fan claimed that in his view, Ait-Nouri might not be the best defensively but offensively and on the ball, he is the real deal: “Ait-Nouri has already played multiple seasons in PL, is 23 and for me has a very high chance of becoming a world class left back in the next few seasons. Unsure on his defensive attributes, but from an attacking and on ball sense, this is fantastic.”

A fourth fan believes the 23-year-old would transform City’s left-hand side as well: “Perfect left-back for us, people don’t clock how much more dangerous our left side will become.”

A fifth City supporter stated that the former Angers technician could become an incredible player for Pep Guardiola in the future: “Still a very raw talent, he needs refining but he’ll be a beast in a few years if he goes in the right direction.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan analysed Ait-Nouri’s strengths and weaknesses before coming to the conclusion that he would be an excellent signing: “Ait-Nouri needs to improve his crossing. His variety bag is basically non-existent. Only utilises low driven crosses. Need him to hold the width so he can assist [Omar] Marmoush, should only drift inside when playing with [Jeremy] Doku. Quick feet, flair, good tackling and agility. Like him a lot.”

All in all, City fans seem to be on the same page as the higher-ups at the club about the Montreuil-born ace.

Matheus Nunes’ record alongside Ait-Nouri at Wolves

It is easy to see why Ait-Nouri would succeed at Manchester City.

The versatile full-back, who can play as a traditional left-back as well as an inverted role and as a wing-back is tactically flexible, technically gifted and Premier League-proven.

Matheus Nunes played 24 games alongside Ait-Nouri at Wolves and if the latter were to sign for City, he could help him adapt to his new surroundings.

However, the pair did not have the best record in tandem, winning eight games, losing 13 and drawing three.

But at Manchester City, the former Wolves duo would win much more games and enjoy playing together, as Nunes is thriving as a right-back this season.

However, only time will tell how serious City’s interest is in Ait-Nouri.
