Man City fans share their honest feelings after Gianluigi Donnarumma concedes four goals vs Israel

Ahead of the Manchester Derby, Gianluigi Donnarumma shipped four goals during Italy’s dramatic 5-4 win against Israel.

The Italian media felt Donnarumma struggled against Israel initially but they acknowledged that it was impossible for him to stop any of the four goals.

Manchester City will be relieved that at least the 26-year-old managed to end up on the winning side despite Gennaro Gattuso’s side not being at their absolute best.

While some City fans were worried about Gianluigi Donnarumma’s display for Italy against Israel, others urged supporters not to panic as he has yet to play for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Man City fans divided over Gianluigi Donnarumma’s display for Italy vs Israel

One Manchester City fan reacted to Donnarumma’s showing for Italy against Israel by simply writing: “This is default Donnarumma by the way.”

A second City supporter admitted the Italian had a disappointing outing, as she wrote: “Donnarumma is all over the place, my God.”

A third fan was concerned about Manchester City’s £30 million signing, Donnarumma ahead of the clash against Manchester United:” Good to see Donna absolutely rock solid before the weekend”, followed by a startled emoji.

However, a fourth City supporter was unhappy about other fans slating the treble-winner, as he wrote: “Fake fans, the guy hasn’t even played one game for us. Back him.”

Another frustrated fan claimed supporters must have more patience, stating: “This fanbase is so awful, hasn’t played a single game for us, was amazing last season, has a bad game and immediately, Trafford should be the number one. Trafford’s going have a bad game, Donna number one.”

Considering Donnarumma kept a clean sheet against Estonia, a sixth Manchester City fan believes that not much was made of his performance then but much is being said about how he fared against Israel: “Didn’t see people talking when he had a clean sheet in his last game. He hasn’t even played for us yet.”

The supporters already seem to be divided about the decorated shotstopper and the only way he can become a fan favourite is by instantly performing in a City shirt.

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s overall record for Italy

If Donnarumma starts against Manchester United and impresses, the Manchester City fans who are worried about his performance for Italy against Israel will pay no mind to his latest outing.

The Italian has played 76 games for his national team.

Donnarumma has kept 31 clean sheets while shipping 70 goals in 76 games, which shows how reliable he is for his country in between the sticks.

As a result, the man from Castellammare di Stabia is one who tends to be reliable and it would be an exaggeration to make much of his performance.
