Despite having Jeremy Doku, Savinho, Oscar Bobb and Omar Marmoush on their books, Manchester City may have no choice but to sign a brand-new winger this summer.
Manchester City could sign Rodrygo to replace Savinho but they will only make a move for the Real Madrid winger in the event that the latter departs this summer.
However, Pep Guardiola could keep Savinho as well if Tottenham are not ready to pay more than £50 million to sign him; as things stand, there are more questions than answers about their wing department.
Last season, Guardiola reverted to playing touchline wingers like the Brazilian and Jeremy Doku in tandem on multiple instances at Manchester City.

Man City eyeing Maghnes Akliouche
The Etihad Stadium has witnessed plenty of world-class wide players, including Raheem Sterling, Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez.
Rodrygo, who Carlo Ancelotti called “elegant”, would potentially become an elite wideman if he were to sign for City as well.
After L’Equipe reported in July that Arsenal were keen on signing Maghnes Akliouche, Florian Plettenberg has now revealed that Manchester City have shortlisted him as an alternative to the 24-year-old.
Rodrygo could cost up to £104 million and as a result, the 23-year-old has attracted City’s interest.
Plettenberg claims that the race to sign the AS Monaco attacker will be “open” and one that could continue until deadline day, with the winger being Bayer Leverkusen’s “dream target” as well.
Fabrizio Romano reveals Man City’s stance on Maghnes Akliouche links
However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester City have played down their links to Akliouche, who played alongside Rayan Cherki for France’s U-21 side.
Romano reiterates our information that Manchester City’s intention is to sign Rodrygo if Tottenham can strike up an agreement to sign Savinho.
With such conflicting revelations emerging about Akliouche, all one can do is wait and see whether City actually ramp up their efforts to sign him later this summer.
