Well, the Reds now seem well equipped to challenge the Citizens for the Premier League title again this season after a few underwhelming campaigns, mainly due to the £60m signing of the Hungary international.
Now, it has been revealed that Haaland is helping Szoboszlai adjust to life in the north of England, and the pair are even neighbours.
The Liverpool Echo reveal that Manchester City’s talisman gave his old pal from RB Salzburg tips about buying properties, which led to them becoming neighbours as the Norway international helps the Hungarian settle.
Haaland and Szoboszlai only played 19 games together in Austria, but they clearly struck up a strong bond before moving to Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig respectively.

Of course, some Manchester City fans – the more competitive of those among us – would arguably prefer it if Haaland wasn’t helping a key player for a rival side settle in.
However – even if Szoboszlai goes on to become a force in the Premier League – Pep Guardiola’s side have more than enough firepower to deal with the threat of Liverpool once again.
Dominik Szoboszlai could be the ideal Kevin De Bruyne replacement at Manchester City
It would be a major challenge to prise Szoboszlai away from Anfield, although the 22-year-old represents a fine long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
The Belgium international is now 32 years of age – a decade older than Liverpool’s No.8 – and seems to be picking up more injuries nowadays.
Both De Bruyne and Szoboszlai operate in similar areas between the lines, and possess the technical skills to carve defences apart.
Therefore, if an opportunity to sign Szoboszlai arises for the Citizens in the next few years, it should be given some serious thought.
