Manuel Akanji must have been frustrated about not featuring whatsoever for Manchester City this season.

Recently, Akanji has been considering his future as City have welcomed approaches for him.

Fortunately for the 30-year-old, he has piqued several clubs’ interest.

One of them is Tottenham, who were interested in Akanji as a defender to bolster their backline.

Manuel Akanji agrees loan move to Inter Milan

However, Inter Milan are keen to sign Akanji as well.

Considering AC Milan admired Akanji as a transfer target themselves, he has garnered attention from the age-old rivals.

However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Inter Milan have agreed a deal to sign the Manchester City centre-back on loan.

Inter are set to pay a €2 million (£1.7 million) loan fee to sign the two-time Premier League winner while there is an option-to-buy him worth €15 million (£12.9 million) that would become “mandatory” under “difficult conditions.”

Akanji is set to undergo his medical, with Romano using his signature “here we go” catchphrase to signify that his exit is on the cards.

Players who have played for both Inter Milan and Man City

Akanji could be the 13th player to do so if he signs for Inter Milan on loan from Manchester City.

Much like Kyle Walker, a loan stint in Italy could give him the chance to revive his career after a disappointing campaign at City.
