Ruben Dias has shared one behind-the-scenes aspect he admires about Manchester City.
The centre-back has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2020 after he arrived from Benfica and has gone on to see numerous other players make moves to the Manchester club.
With the latest summer transfer window seeing the Citizens bring in Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol, the Portuguese international has shared his thoughts on what sort of players the club aim to add to their ranks.
Dias discusses City’s recruitment

Speaking in the latest edition of the Official Man City Podcast, Dias had this to say about City’s recruitment when it comes to targeting and signing new players.
He said: “Since I arrived I have a feeling that more than just hiring a player, a good winger, a good defender, a good midfielder, we’re hiring people with personality, with character and people that they know they’re going to be here and that they’re going to fight for it.

“Not just to make it happen but to keep making it happen, and I think that’s when we feel secure on the team’s mentality because we know we’ve got the kind of players that don’t just want to do it once, they don’t just want to look pretty for the picture, we want to look pretty in the legacy.”
Since Dias made his move to the Etihad, the treble winners have brought in players such as Jack Grealish, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips, Manuel Akanji and Erling Haaland among others, who all played a part in seeing the Citizens win their three titles last season.

Given how successful City were last season, it will be positive for the supporters to hear that Dias thinks the players the club have brought in since his arrival are the sort of people that have a continuous hunger to keep on being successful and win trophies.
Even look further back after last season, the number of trophies the Manchester club have won during Pep Guardiola’s tenure shows how impressive the recruitment has been from the people behind the scenes at the Etihad.
Moving forward, with Kovacic and Gvardiol becoming new City players this summer, it’ll be interesting to see if the club adds any more new faces to the squad before the transfer window closes.
