It’s transfer deadline day and it might end up being an interesting one for Manchester City.
The summer transfer window has been a successful one for Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola working hard to overhaul his squad after last year’s disappointing campaign.
City got the bulk of their work done early before the Club World Cup, with Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Rayan Cherki all recruited.
It’s been slow going since then, with James Trafford the only other major first-team addition since June, with City instead focusing on reducing the squad.
Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and James McAtee have headed for pastures new and there is likely to be more departures before the earlier-than-usual deadline of 7pm on Monday.
However, there could yet be room for some last-minute additions and here’s what could go down on transfer deadline day.
The players Manchester City could still sign on transfer deadline day
Guardiola isn’t desperate for new signings as he aims to shrink his squad for the season ahead, but he still might get one or two.
Gianluigi Donnarumma – PSG

The biggest and most likely signing City could still make before the window closes is of colossal goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Despite his crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain’s long-awaited Champions League triumph last season, Donnarumma is being forced out of PSG and has already been replaced by Lucas Chevalier.
You’d be forgiven for assuming Donnarumma is coming to the end of his career, given how long he’s been at the top level but, remarkably, he is still just 26.
City could sign Donnarumma before the window closes, but only if Ederson departs.
Rodrygo – Real Madrid

While the deal is now looking increasingly unlikely, there remains a slim possibility that Real Madrid star Rodrygo could arrive at the Etihad Stadium.
Madrid have been attempting to move on the winger this summer and after heavily-linked Arsenal moved on to other targets, City are the only possible destination left in the running.
A move for Rodrygo only looks likely if Savinho departs, with his move to Tottenham looking off at the moment, but a lot could still change in the hours remaining in the window.
11 possible exits from Manchester City on deadline day

It seemed remarkable when it emerged that Savinho could leave City this summer after his promising debut campaign in England, but the Blues never stand in a wantaway player’s way if the money is right.
Though Tottenham have reportedly not completely given up on Savinho yet, the move does seem unlikely to happen this summer.
The more likely departure is Ederson, who Galatasaray remain heavily interested in but are unwilling to match City’s price. The Brazilian will have to go for Donnarumma to arrive.
Elsewhere, Tottenham, AC Milan and Crystal Palace are all interested in Manuel Akanji, while former captain Ilkay Gundogan could be a late exit, as well as Stefan Ortega and Kalvin Phillips.
Away from the first team, Issa Kabore, Josh Wilson-Esbrand, Kaden Braithwaite, Mahamadou Susoho and Luke Mbete could also go on loan.
