Kevin De Bruyne’s Man City career is coming to an end.
After 10 years at the Etihad Stadium, the Belgian will depart the Manchester club at the end of the season when his current contract expires after Man City failed to offer De Bruyne a new deal.
The 33-year-old’s last game in front of City supporters will take place against Bournemouth on 20 May, however, the superstar will hope to end his time at Man City on a high by lifting the FA Cup three days earlier against Crystal Palace at Wembley.
One big question around the future of the City legend is whether De Bruyne will play for Man City at the FIFA Club World Cup, with the latest reports stating that he hopes to skip the tournament in order to be ready to play for his new club.
The midfielder has now set a deadline for this decision and City fans will know by then what club the Belgian will be continuing his career with.

Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne sets deadline
De Bruyne hopes to remain in Europe next season and it remains to be seen if any major side comes calling for the 33-year-old in the coming weeks, with Shaun Wright-Phillips seeing Bayern Munich as an option for the Man City midfielder.
It has been reported that the Chicago Fire are in the lead for De Bruyne, with the Belgian star now needing to decide on whether he wants to play for Man City at the FIFA Club World Cup or take a break before making the move to MLS or another country.
According to GIVEMESPORT, De Bruyne hopes to have a decision made on his future this month so he can determine if he’ll play in the Club World Cup with City, which would have to be negotiated with whatever new club he lands at.
Chicago Fire now have De Bruyne’s MLS discovery rights, which essentially means priority to negotiate, which makes Gregg Berhalter’s side the most likely destination for the Man City legend’s career to continue.
Key factor in deciding Kevin De Bruyne’s future after Man City
Although the Chicago Fire are in a great place to land De Bruyne at the end of the season, a big factor that can still come into play is the interest of European clubs.
Aston Villa recently expressed their interest in De Bruyne and the Birmingham club will not be the last to make inquiries over the coming weeks.
Remaining in England is unlikely for the 33-year-old given his relationship with Man City, but the superstar still believes he can play at the highest level and should a German or Spanish club come calling, the midfielder is likely to choose that option.
This will be Chicago’s biggest worry ahead of the summer, however, the MLS side look to be putting in the work to bring the Man City star to America and they are in a great place to get the deal over the line.
