Manchester City have returned to winning ways, and we have a familiar name on the scoresheet against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have got the better of Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

Julian Alvarez scored for City in the seventh minute.

And then on 19 minutes, Erling Haaland made it 2-0 to the defending champions.

That saw Haaland end a run of three matches without a goal.

The 23-year-old striker did not have the best of times against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal before the international break.

But, he was back among the goals on Saturday.

Martin Keown praises Manchester City striker Erling Haaland vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Haaland pounced on a Carlos Baleba mistake in the middle of the park and sent a thunderous left-footed shot into the back of the net.

It was a wonderful finish, and former Arsenal star and BBC Sport pundit Martin Keown was impressed.

Keown said about Haaland’s goal on BBC Sport: “Erling Haaland is just going through the gears there – that was an easy goal but 10 out of 10 for execution.”

Teams should now fear Erling Haaland… again

I believe that Erling Haaland is now going to score goals for fun for Manchester City.

Haaland took his goal against Brighton and Hove Albion well.

The 23-year-old striker kept the ball well, too, and looked very much involved in the match.

We know that Haaland is a very clinical striker.

He does not need too many chances to score.

Against Brighton, Haaland took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 90.9%, won one header, took 20 touches, and made one tackle.

Haaland has scored nine goals and given one assist in nine Premier League matches for City so far this season.

The Norwegian star has also given one assist in two UEFA Champions League games for Pep Guardiola’s side this campaign.
