The Manchester City academy has produced a number of future first-team players. But who are the Citizens’ current crop of Under-21 prospects striving to make it to the senior side at Etihad Stadium?
First-team manager Pep Guardiola can call on a handful of Manchester City’s academy graduates in his squad, including Phil Foden. The midfielder joined the Citizens’ fold at U9 level and rose through the age groups. Rico Lewis also joined their youth system aged eight and made it to the senior side.
Manchester City academy play in the Premier League 2 Division 1 under head coach Brian Barry-Murphy. The Irishman has coached the elite development squad since June 2021. While the Citizens’ junior team play their matches at the Academy Stadium on their Etihad Campus.
