Manchester City winger Jeremy Doku delivered an eye-catching performance in his latest international appearance.

For their latest qualifying match for Euro 2024, Belgium beat Austria 3-2 thanks to goals from Dodi Lukebakio and Romelu Lukaku.

Despite not being able to get his name on the scoresheet on this occasion, Doku still managed to deliver a performance that would have certainly impressed Pep Guardiola.

In addition to providing the assist for Lukaku’s goal, the winger ended up successfully completing 11 of the 15 dribbles he attempted and drawing six fouls in total across the 88 minutes he was on the pitch for, showcasing how much of an attacking nuisance he was for the opposition.

Then from a defensive point of view, the 21-year-old won 17 of the 23 ground duels he was involved in, which is more than any other Belgium player managed to win throughout the match.

This highlights that Doku can be just as effective off the ball as he is on it going forward up the pitch.

Overall, this display ultimately earned the City winger an overall match rating of 7.9/10 from SofaScore, making him the second-highest rated Belgian player on the day behind Lukebakio.

Taking all of that into account, this performance could well have put the attacker, who City paid £55m to sign during the previous summer transfer window, in a good position to be in Guardiola’s starting XI for next weekend’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
