Jack Grealish arrived late for training at Manchester City on Tuesday – jogging into the session as Pep Guardiola watched on.
The treble winners could be seen warming up for a considerable amount of time before the England international entered the fray – as shown in a longer video posted by Hayters TV.
So, how did Pep Guardiola react to Jack Grealish arriving late? Let’s take a look…
How Pep Guardiola responded to Jack Grealish lateness
Well – before we begin – it must be said that nobody really knows why the £100m man was late, and he may have simply been carrying out some media work or another obligation.
Judging by Guardiola’s reaction, it did appear to be an authorised lateness.
The Spaniard could be seen smiling and laughing as the 28-year-old jogged over to join his teammates.
You can see the moment below in a 17-second video posted by the Manchester Evening News on X.
Grealish is in Guardiola’s good books right now after scoring the winner against Luton on Sunday.
The 52-year-old even gave the Manchester City No.10’s hair a playful ruffle at Kenilworth Road after delivering a now trademark tactical lesson to him on the pitch at full-time.
Undoubtedly, the wider media will attempt to dress Tuesday’s training ground situation up as some form of disciplinary issue given Grealish’s unjust reputation, although we highly doubt there was any wrongdoing judging by Guardiola’s positive reaction.
Jack Grealish is stepping up for Manchester City
Earlier this season, the spotlight was firmly on Grealish as Jeremy Doku dazzled on the left wing.
Chris Sutton even felt that the Birmingham-born maestro was “in a bit of bother” because of the Belgian.
However, Grealish has truly stepped up in recent weeks to remind everybody just how important he can be for Guardiola.

The £100m man netted a significant goal in the 3-3 draw against Tottenham before sealing Sunday’s 2-1 win over Luton with a poacher’s effort at the back post, the kind of strike Guardiola loves to see.
Now, it is up to Grealish to carry this form into 2024 and beyond – hopefully into UEFA EURO 2024 with England this summer as well.
