Declan Rice is flourishing at Arsenal at the moment, but the former West Ham United midfielder could have been starring for Manchester City now.
Arsenal signed Declan Rice from London and Premier League rivals West Ham United in the summer transfer window, but not before Manchester City tried to bring the England international midfielder to the Etihad Stadium.
On June 27, Sky Sports reported that City, who won the Premier League, the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup last season, made a bid of £80 million upfront plus £10m in add-ons.
West Ham turned it down.
Declan Rice stance when Manchester City came calling
Arsenal eventually secured the services of Rice for £100 million plus £5 million.
The North London club are paying Rice £240,000 per week as salary (Spotrac).

The Mirror is now reporting that Rice always wanted to move to Arsenal and did not fancy a switch to Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was key in Rice’s decision, adding that the England international midfielder “was not remotely tempted when Bayern Munich and Manchester City showed an interest”.
Manchester City have moved on from Declan Rice
I do not think that Manchester City are too fussed that they could not sign Declan Rice ahead of Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Rice is a very good midfielder who can also operate as a defender.
And yes, the Englishman is going to get better and improve in the coming years.
But, City will find someone better in the future.
I am convinced about that.
The Citizens already have some brilliant midfielders such as Rodri, Matheus Nunes, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.
City have a very good and capable recruitment team who tend to sign really good players and then Pep Guardiola makes them better.
Missing on Rice to Arsenal is not a big deal for City.
