Manchester City remain in contention for a fourth straight Premier League table and today, three players have been acknowledged for their fine campaigns so far.
Pep Guardiola‘s team are in terrific form right now and are seemingly putting together one of their runs as the business end of the season gets nearer.
City are looking to win the title for the fourth season in a row – a feat that has never been achieved before. But the challenges presented by Liverpool and Arsenal are very strong, and it will take a huge effort from City to get the job done.
But there is certainly a chance while City have Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Rodri on top form – and the trio have today been included in the WhoScored Team of the Season so far…
Man City trio Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Rodri named in WhoScored Team of the Season so far

As it is now the international break, it is a chance for everyone to just take stock of what’s happened so far in the Premier League.
People have been talking about who they feel have been the best players up to now, and WhoScored have named their Team of the Season so far, based on their own ratings system
According to WhoScored‘s website, the ratings ‘are based on a unique, comprehensive statistical algorithm, calculated live during the game’.
They have provided an XI based on the highest-rated players so far, and Manchester City have three representatives – Erling Haaland, Phil Foden and Rodri.
The team sees Alphonse Areola in goal, with a back four of Kieran Trippier, Cristian Romero, Virgil van Dijk and Antonee Robinson.
In midfield, it’s Foden, Rodri, Declan Rice and Bukao Saka, and in attack, Haaland is joined by Tottenham Hotspur forward Heung-min Son.
Of the three City stars, Rodri has the highest average rating with (7.56), which is second only to Saka (7.69) in the whole team.
All three deserve their places
As always with these things, not everyone was happy on social media.
Many Liverpool supporters were especially frustrated at their lack of representatives given their season so far.
But WhoScored have their system, and the team is what it is. Certainly, the trio from City all deserve their inclusions.
Foden has had the season of his life so far, while Rodri has again been sensational. The Spaniard has completely normalised playing amazingly well every game to the point where it’s probably taken for granted a little.
Haaland probably hasn’t quite matched the heights he did last season, but he’s still hit 18 Premier League goals and 29 across all competitions.
Kevin De Bruyne has been fantastic when he’s played but he doesn’t qualify due to not making a minimum of 20 appearances. Bernardo Silva can perhaps count himself a tad unlucky. Since he doesn’t get many goals or assists, he was perhaps always slightly unlikely to make such a team.
