Manchester City No.4 Kalvin Phillips has now sent a message to Jude Bellingham on Instagram after England’s 3-1 win over Scotland.
The Real Madrid No.5 delivered another outstanding performance as he grabbed a goal and an assist inside Hampden Park, with Phil Foden also getting himself on the scoresheet against Steve Clarke’s side.
So, what did Kalvin Phillips send to Jude Bellingham? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the £42m Manchester City midfielder decided to send his message to the 20-year-old in Spanish after the Birmingham-born sensation began life at Real Madrid in scintillating fashion.
Phillips wrote “ese es mi chico’ in response to Bellingham’s post about the win over Scotland, which translates to “that’s my boy” in English.
James Maddison also got involved in the Spanish trend, posting “muy bien alguacil” – which means “very good sheriff”.
Jude Bellingham and Kalvin Phillips could have been teammates at Manchester City
Interestingly, Phillips and Bellingham could have become teammates at club level as well as on the international scene this summer.
According to The Athletic, there was a strong desire from Manchester City to sign Bellingham over the summer, although the Citizens and other sides always felt that Real Madrid were his preferred destination.
The Spanish giants eventually wrapped up a £113m deal with Borussia Dortmund.

Bellingham has since taken to life at the Santiago Bernabeu like a duck to water, scoring five goals while also providing one assist in his first four appearances in La Liga.
The Birmingham City academy graduate’s blistering start to life at Real Madrid – one of the toughest places to succeed in football – is not normal, to say the least.
With each passing game in which Bellingham adds to his reputation, Pep Guardiola will surely regret the fact he was unable to bring him to Manchester City.
