One Manchester City player is said to be dead set on completing a move to one club this summer and is apparently freezing interest from all other suitors.
It’s been a quiet summer so far for City but things are about to start happening at the Etihad Stadium.
The two major tournaments – Euro 2024 and the Copa America – are close to finishing, and this could mean a bit more activity.
One man who has been at Euro 2024 is Joao Cancelo, someone who is not in the plans of Pep Guardiola but is still a Manchester City player nonetheless.
City are keen to offload Cancelo but the situation is complicated because Barcelona cannot afford to sign him on a permanent basis.
Joao Cancelo is freezing interest from other clubs, Barcelona move could happen in final days of the window

It was reported earlier this week that City had entered into negotiations with two unnamed Saudi clubs over Cancelo.
City want to sell the 30-year-old because there are no plans to reintegrate him into the squad, given the seemingly broken relationship with Pep.
They are hopeful that one of these clubs can present a lucrative offer to Cancelo, who cost the club £60 million, so that his head will be turned away from Barcelona. City know Barca can’t afford him, and the two Saudi clubs can.
But it will all depend on whether he can be convinced.
SPORT are reporting at the moment that Cancelo is currently ‘freezing’ interest from all other clubs so that he can secure another loan to Barcelona.
Cancelo, Barca president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are all on record as wanting the player back at the club after his loan spell last term.
It is stated that City’s current stance will likely mean that Barca negotiations for Cancelo will likely not intensify until the final days of the window.
Cancelo situation is hugely frustrating for City
The situation with Cancelo must be a great source of frustration for City officials, who will obviously be keen to sell the player this summer if Pep has no use for him.
Another loan move just doesn’t do anything for City, who are ready to cut ties and want a bit of money back on a player who will not be playing for them.
The player is digging his heels in and that is making life difficult. So far, it seems as though he would only be willing to go back to Barcelona.
It would seem at this point that the only hope City have of actually selling Cancelo in this window is if a Saudi contract offer comes in that is so big, that it does take his focus away from Barcelona.
But there has been no indication so far that Cancelo wants to go to the Middle East.
