Manchester City fans have seen many a great statistic about Rodri in recent times – and another very one has emerged about the superb Spaniard.
Rodri has enjoyed another excellent campaign for City, following his exploits in the Treble-winning 2022/23 season.
The 27-year-old has featured in 27 games so far, missing four through suspension.
He’s scored six goals and made seven assists so far, and it has just been another top season from him. Given the expectations of him now, his impressive performances have actually probably gone under the radar.
The win over Brentford on Monday actually means that Rodri has now personally gone unbeaten for one whole year in a City shirt – and now, another impressive statistic has emerged about him…
Rodri has the highest pass success rate in the final third of any player in Europe

We all know how good a passer of the ball Rodri is. It was recently revealed that Rodri had the best long ball completion rate of any other player in the Premier League since the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
The former Atletico Madrid man is one of the very best in the world at distributing the ball from deep midfield positions.
But it turns out he is also right up there when it comes to passing in the final third.
According to WhoScored data, Rodri has the highest pass success rate (88.6%) when it comes to passes played in the final third, of all players in Europe’s top five leagues (400+ minutes).
Just below him are Aleix García (87.9), Toni Kroos and Declan Rice (both 87.1%), Conor Gallagher (86.1%) and City maestro Bernardo Silva (85%).
Ridiculous from Rodri
This is yet another amazing statistic, about an amazing footballer.
To have a pass success rate of 88.6% in the final third is so impressive, because there is so much more potential to give the ball away when you have so many players there.
It’s relatively easy to have high passing accuracy when you are distributing the ball from deep positions, as there are plenty of options.
But in the final third things can get very tight and cramp, especially when teams set up with a low block, which is a very common occurrence for City.
But Rodri rarely gives the ball away even in these more pressured situations, further proving what an ‘exceptional’ player he is.
