Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva put in an eye-catching performance for Portugal last night in his latest international appearance.

In their latest qualifying match for Euro 2024, Portugal beat Slovakia 1-0 thanks to a goal from Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Despite that, one of City’s Portuguese players ended up putting in a top performance and made a big impact on the game.

Having completed the full 90 minutes of the match, Silva had 62 touches of the ball in total, accurately completing 48 of the 51 passes he attempted, leaving him with a passing accuracy percentage of 94%, the joint-second highest in the team.

He also provided the assist for Fernandes’ winning goal, one of the three key passes he made throughout the match.

Silva also did his bit defensively as well as being a nuisance for the opposition in an attacking sense by making two tackles and one clearance to help his side keep a clean sheet.

This performance ultimately earned the City star an overall match rating of 7.6/10 from SofaScore, making him the second-highest rated player that started for Portugal.

With all of that in mind, it’s safe to say that the 29-year-old put in an impressive performance and had a successful outing for his country.

Moving forward, if Silva can deliver this sort of performance for City throughout the remainder of the season, he’ll undoubtedly be seen as one of the Manchester club’s most important players of the campaign, especially if they end up regaining the titles they won last season.
