Micah Richards has shared his praise for Manchester City youngster Micah Hamilton after making his senior debut for the club.
The 20-year-old made his senior debut for the Manchester club in midweek during their 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
Having scored City’s first goal of the match and winning the penalty that led to Kalvin Phillips finding the back of the net for the first time at the club, the youngster had a very successful night on the big stage.
This has since led to one pundit and former City player sharing his praise for the winger.
Richards heaps praise on Hamilton after City debut

Speaking in a recent edition of The Rest Is Football, Richards had this to say about Hamilton.
He said: “He’d been on the bench a couple of times this season. You hear whispers in the academy and he’s playing with Oscar Bobb and he’s really close to Rico Lewis.
“You know when you’re watching academy footballers and someone gets loads of goals and loads of assists and then when they come to first team football it’s almost like headless chicken. So I didn’t know whether he could cope at this level but yesterday he showed he can cope.
“He’s dangerous, electrified winger, can play left, can play right, can play in the middle as well, got pace, got skill and he can finish.
“It was a joy to see another academy graduate. You know, we talk about how good Man City are winning trebles and how much money they can invest in but it’s nice to see young talent being given a chance and he took his chance yesterday so hopefully more games.”
Hamilton has made 62 youth appearances for the Manchester club across all competitions, scoring 16 goals and supplying 16 assists.
Speaking after the midweek European victory, Pep Guardiola shared his thoughts on the youngster and what he produced on the pitch.
He said: “What a goal and what a game. I am so happy for him. He is training well and we saw his skills. He made a fantastic goal. Defensively he was aggressive.”
Having delivered such an eye-catching performance in his debut game, it’ll be interesting to see if Hamilton gets the chance to play again in Guardiola’s side at any other point in the season.
