Pep Guardiola has assured that Manchester City gem Oscar Bobb will play a significant amount of first-team football this season.
After his side’s 3-1 win against Red Star Belgrade (via City’s official website), the Catalan tactician was quizzed about the Norwegian youngster and his debut in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola lauded Oscar Bobb and guaranteed that he is set to play quite a lot of minutes at senior level.
Pep Guardiola says Manchester City gem Oscar Bobb will play ‘a lot’ this season
The 20-year-old initially turned heads with his performances during pre-season on the right-flank.
Making two appearances in the Premier League this season, Bobb has looked the part, especially against Fulham where his trickery was on full display.
As Manchester City rolled Red Star Belgrade over quite comfortably, Pep Guardiola initially showered Oscar Bobb with praise.

“He is dynamic, he has a good shot, he has courage. He lost two balls, he has to improve to not do it in the final third but sometimes, it happens. But see his personality, he’s not shy. Incredible work ethic, so aggressive without the ball.”
Pep Guardiola went on to state that Oscar Bobb could play plenty of football for Manchester City this campaign.
“I have the feeling that some players like Cole Palmer, [James] McAtee and Riyad [Mahrez] left, he will have a lot a lot minutes. He has to be ready to use it.”
Bobb must grab his opportunities with both hands
With Cole Palmer having joined Chelsea and James McAtee on loan at Sheffield United, the pathway into the first-team has cleared up for the gifted technician, who has clearly impressed Pep Guardiola.
Considering Guardiola rarely ever admits that a youngster could get a significant number of minutes, the teenager must continue to shine when given a chance.
As long as Bobb follows instructions and plays to his strengths, his journey towards becoming a regular first-team player will start to gain more legs as he certainly has the talent to reach the top.
