Sam Allardyce has hailed Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson for the way he can create goalscoring opportunities with his passing.
The Brazilian is in his seventh season with the Citizens and is looking to help his side make history once again and become the first top-flight side to win four Premier League titles in a row.
Having now spent a significant period of time in the Premier League, the shot-stopper has found himself on the receiving end of some heavy praise from one former top-flight manager who has seen first-hand how much of a danger the 30-year-old can be for opposing sides.
Allardyce hails Ederson’s passing

Speaking in a recent edition of the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Allardyce had this to say about Ederson.
He said: “He’s Man City’s best long passer, by a million miles. You try and shut Man City down, and I’ve tried this with Everton, try and shut Man City down and we were doing a great job.
“I can’t remember who it was but they set off from their left-hand side and started bending his runs and Phil Jagielka didn’t see him coming, and they just went straight over the top and scored. He is remarkable in terms of that.”

With 297 appearances for City under his belt, Ederson has kept 142 clean sheets and won numerous trophies along the way including five Premier League titles.
Out of the 223 Premier League games he’s played in, the Brazilian international has been able to deliver three assists, all of which came from long passes he made up the pitch, which highlights Allardyce’s point about Ederson being an attacking danger.
Back in 2017, Pep Guardiola hailed the Brazilian’s long-passing ability and even admitted that he noticed it when Ederson was playing for Benfica in a Champions League game against Bayern Munich when the Spaniard was in charge.
Taking all of that into account, it’s clear that the goalkeeper has been a top signing for City and a big reason why they have been so successful under Guardiola.
