Pundit and former Premier League player Phillipe Albert has likened Manchester City transfer target, Jeremy Doku, to Eden Hazard.
The Citizens have been linked with a move for the Rennes winger in recent weeks and are apparently willing to make a bid to sign him.
Now though, one pundit, who knows what it’s like to play in the top flight of English football, has had his say on the attacker.
Albert likens Doku to Hazard

Speaking in a recent Facebook live video with La Tribune for RTBF, Albert had this to say about Doku.
He said: “He has incredible qualities that were discovered in Anderlecht but he has often been injured in the last two, three seasons.
“It is a young nugget that had left for more than €20m (£17m) so Rennes would accept an offer of €60m (£51m). I think the march is not too high, he has the qualities to win in the Premier League or in any world championship.
“If he is 100% physically, he will impose himself and disgust the opponents. It’s a bit like Eden Hazard at the beginning of his career with his double, triple accelerations that can hurt a lot.
“In England, some teams are still a little naive at this level so it would hurt. He can play on both sides but I remain convinced that a player must play on his right foot so I would put him on the right. The role of a winger is also to feed the attacker so if you have the right player, there is no better at that level.”

Since joining Rennes back in 2020 from Anderlecht, the 21-year-old has made 91 appearances for his current club across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and delivering 12 assists along the way.
The Belgian got his latest season in France off to a good start by scoring a goal in Rennes’ 5-1 win over FC Metz at the weekend.
Having been likened to Hazard in terms of his acceleration, if Doku does end up joining Pep Guardiola’s side and goes on to have a similar impact that the former Chelsea star did in the Premier League, as he scored 85 goals and provided 61 assists in 245 appearances, it’s safe to say that City could have a future superstar on their hands.
Moving forward, with Riyad Mahrez now having left the Manchester club, we feel that it would make sense for the Citizens to secure a deal for the Rennes star if they feel he has what it takes to be a top addition to the squad.
