Kalvin Phillips has shared his thoughts on former Manchester City transfer target Jude Bellingham ahead of his upcoming season with Real Madrid.
Prior to seeing the midfielder join the Spanish club from Borussia Dortmund last month in a deal worth an initial fee of £88.5m, the Citizens were one of the sides in the frame to sign Bellingham.
With the 20-year-old now preparing for his first season in La Liga, one current City player, who knows what it’s like to be in the same squad as the youngster, has shared how much he rates his international teammate.
Phillips raves over Bellingham

Speaking in a recent interview with talkSPORT, Phillips said this about Bellingham when asked how confident supporters should be regarding England’s chances of winning the Euros next year.
He said: “I think we can be very confident, as you can tell we’ve got some amazing players and one player that stands out for me is obviously Jude Bellingham, who has just moved to Real Madrid.
“He’s an amazing player and he’s going to be a real superstar, I think, when he gets going at Real Madrid and obviously for England as well he’s going to be one of the star players and I just hope everything goes well for him over in Spain and hopefully we’ll see him soon and I’m looking forward to seeing him again.”

During his time with Dortmund, the Englishman scored 24 goals and delivered 25 assists in 132 appearances across all competitions.
Last season saw the midfielder end the Bundesliga campaign with the highest average of tackles per game (2.5) at his former club as well as having the highest overall performance rating (7.58/10) according to WhoScored.
Having also received significant praise for his efforts for England at the World Cup in Qatar, this further highlights why Phillips has shared his admiration for Bellingham and why Real chose to spend such a large amount of money to sign him.
It also showcases how disappointed City and a lot of their supporters may have been after missing out on landing a potential deal for the midfielder before he signed his contract with Real.
