Julian Alvarez came on to bail Manchester City out against RB Leipzig in the Champions League tonight.
City ran out 3-1 winners against the German outfit.
But the scoreline wasn’t as comfortable as it suggests.

City dominated the ball, and took the lead in the first-half through Phil Foden.
But after Leipzig equalised very early in the second-half, City had to be wary in parts.
City were struggling to break the Germans down, but Pep Guardiola made a double substitution that changed the game.
Alvarez and Jeremy Doku came on, and the Argentine got City back in front with a sublime finish into the top corner – a goal Kevin De Bruyne would probably have been very proud of.
He then turned provider for his fellow substitute Doku.
Owen Hargreaves raves over Julian Alvarez as Manchester City beat RB Leipzig
After the game, Alvarez came in for some nice words from former City midfielder Owen Hargreaves, who was on punditry duty for TNT Sports.
He was so impressed with the South American’s cameo.
He said on TNT Sports: “I’ve been amazed by the quality of Julian Alvarez. I know he’s a fabulous player but lately his set-pieces have been absolutely exceptional. The goal he scores is almost like a free-kick. The goal from Alvarez was pure class from a fabulous player.

“He’s a really special player. The one (free-kick) he scored at the weekend was one of the best I’ve seen this season. But that is pure class.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen him have a bad game.”
£14 million star Alvarez has surely secured his starting spot against Arsenal at the weekend with his performance this evening.
