AC Milan director Igli Tare has shared his stance towards the potential signing of Manchester City defender Manuel Akanji.
Man City have a fair bit of business to get through before Monday night’s transfer deadline, including some outgoings.
Manuel Akanji is one of the players who could leave Manchester City in the coming days as Pep Guardiola looks to trim down his playing squad.
AC Milan are one of the clubs in the picture, and Tare spoke to the Italian media about the prospect of signing the Swiss defender.

Igli Tare suggests Milan want to sign ‘experienced’ Manuel Akanji
Tare, speaking ahead of Milan’s Serie A match against Lecce, explained how his side needed some help after their 2-1 loss to Cremonese.
He said the Rossoneri were after “experienced” reinforcements at the back, and Akanji is a player who fits the bill.
“This change in formation in the last few days has put us in a bit of trouble,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia when asked whether Akanji had given a definitive answer.
“We need to do our best in these 72 hours to bring home an experienced player, and he is.”

What’s happening between Milan and Manuel Akanji
Fabrizio Romano reported that Milan had submitted a verbal offer for Akanji worth around £12million plus add-ons.
No issues are expected between the two clubs, as the Citizens are open to parting company with the 30-year-old.
Furthermore, Milan are said to have made contact with Akanji’s representatives, and the player is expected to make a decision soon.
Akanji has been a solid player for Man City, but with Pep Guardiola wanting a smaller squad for the 2025/26 campaign, the Swiss is increasingly likely to leave.
