Manchester City are into the Champions League final after beating Real Madrid 4-0 last night at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg of the semi-final.

Pep Guaridola’s side produced one of the best performances by an English side in Europe for years.

Bernardo Silva grabbed two goals in the first-half to set City on their way.

Manuel Akanji got the faintest of touches on a Kevin De Bruyne free-kick in the second-half for the third.

And then, substitute Julian Alvarez put the icing on the cake right at the end.

City are now into their second final in three years.

They will meet Inter Milan in Istanbul on June 10, and be coming up against former striker Edin Dzeko, who has already expressed his excitement on social media.

After being beaten by Chelsea in 2021, City will be determined to go one better this time and finally win that elusive Champions League trophy.

Last night’s performance and win was truly extraordinary.

This was City absolutely decimating Real Madrid, a team who have dominated in the competition over the last 10 years.

Every single City player was brilliant last night and Guardiola must be extremely proud.

Fans certainly were, and so were some former City stars who have given their reactions on social media.

Following last night’s 4-0 win for City, some former players took to social media to react.

Ex-captain Fernandinho was overcome with emotion, writing ‘I just love you @ManCity’.

City’s all-time top goalscorer added ‘Come on @ManCity’ along with a sky blue heart and a photo of the team in front of the fans.

The pair were both a part of the City side that lost the Champions League final to Chelsea two years ago.

Both were on the bench but came on in the second-half.

They’ll be hoping this City side can now succeed where theirs came up agonisingly short.
