Manchester City have seen some players move in and out of the club during the latest summer transfer window.
Having welcomed Savinho to the Etihad Stadium, the Manchester club have also seen the likes of Sergio Gomez and Taylor Harwood-Bellis bring an end to their time with City.
With Savinho arriving from Troyes after spending last season on loan at Girona, Gomez was sold to Real Sociedad and Harwood-Bellis turned his loan spell at Southampton into a permanent move.
Despite waving goodbye to numerous players throughout the window, a pundit and former top-flight manager has backed another figure currently in Pep Guardiola’s ranks to leave the Manchester club in the near future.

Alan Pardew says Kalvin Phillips should leave Man City
After Kalvin Phillips played in City’s recent pre-season friendly match against Barcelona in a centre-back role, Alan Pardew had this to say about him and his situation at the Manchester club in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel.
He said: “No, he won’t break into Man City’s team.
“Playing him at centre-back is not insulting, but it is a little bit like, well, he’s obviously giving him a game because they’re a bit short there.
“He needs to move on and the loans thing didn’t work out for him. The West Ham thing was really poor for him and the club. So whatever happens he needs a new home, I think.
“I always thought of him, when I watched him, I always thought he was a very, very competent footballer. But there seems to be a drop-off, whether it’s in his mental capacity, saying something’s gone on in his mind because physically, there’s nothing wrong with him.
“He is what we would [call a] term in the trade, a water carrier type of player. He gets it, gives it, does things simple. But what he does is efficient and that is a big, big ingredient in any sort of Premier League team.”
A move away from City would be beneficial for Phillips
In his second season as a City player last term, Phillips only made four substitute appearances in the Premier League before joining West Ham United on loan in January until the end of the campaign.
After starting just three of the eight league games he appeared in for the Hammers, the Englishman returned to City, but Guardiola recently said in a press conference (via Manchester Evening News) that he doesn’t know what will happen with him in terms of where he’ll be once the summer transfer window closes.
Taking that into account, we feel that if Phillips, who cost the club £45m to sign back in 2022, isn’t likely to be in Guardiola’s plans for the upcoming season, a move away could be the ideal next step for him, as Pardew stated.
