Erling Haaland is one of the best players in the world, but the Manchester City striker could not make a massive impact against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
Manchester City slumped to a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League.
Erling Haaland started the match for defending champions City.
Haaland led the line for the Citizens in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
The 23-year-old Norway international striker played for the entire 90 minutes.
Alan Shearer verdict on Erling Haaland display for Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
Former Newcastle United striker and BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer was following the match.
And, he was not impressed by the display produced by Haaland.
The Match of the Day pundit noted that Wolves defender Craig Dawson kept Haaland quiet in the game.

Shearer said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Although Man City had a lot of possession, efforts on goal, pressure, Wolves didn’t half defend well.
“They showed a great attitude again, got a bit of look with the deflection for the first goal, had one shot on target the whole game which produced the second goal.
“Haaland was kept quiet which is unusual, Dawson did a great job on him.
“The result wasn’t a fluke, they worked very hard for it and got the reward.
Erling Haaland disappointing for Manchester City
In my view, Erling Haaland had one of the worst games for Manchester City in recent times.
The Norway international striker simply failed to put the Wolverhampton Wanderers defenders under consistent pressure.
Haaland had a good chance in the first half and took a tame effort in the second period.
The striker was simply not in the game for large periods of the match.
The City attackers could not get the ball to Haaland at the right time and in the right positions.
However, every player has bad games.
Haaland still remains the best and most lethal striker in the Premier League.
The City no. 9 has scored eight goals and given one assist in seven league matches so far this season.
