Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker certainly knows what it’s like to play against Manchester City.
Having been at the Merseyside club since the summer of 2018, the goalkeeper has faced off against City on 13 occasions, leaving only Arsenal (14) as the side he’s come up against more.
In fact, the 31-year-old has conceded more goals (24) against Pep Guardiola’s side than any other he team he’s played against in his career.
One particular figure in the City squad he knows very well is Ederson, who has been battling it out with the Liverpool star to be Brazil’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Now though, Alisson has shared his thoughts on his fellow countryman, which should interest City and Liverpool fans in equal measure.

Alisson shares his feelings about Ederson
Appearing in a recent video interview with Joe Hart shared on BBC Sport, Alisson had this to say when asked about Ederson.
He said: “Ederson is a fantastic guy. In the national team, we have a really good relationship.
“Sometimes we cross each other at school, our kids study at the same school, and I can say from my side that I really like the way Ederson, his composure, how he’s cool with the ball at his feet.
“And I saw that in my game sometimes, I was too concerned when I have the ball that I didn’t think clearly.
“So when I look at him playing, I can see, this is the way I have to play. I have to be cooler with the ball at my feet even if I am under pressure.
“I think in a way, we push each other. Because I see him doing well, and I know I have to do better. Healthy competition. We push each other. It is the best for the national team.”
What else has been said about Ederson before?
During his time with the Reds, Alisson has made 268 appearances across all competitions prior to their league match against Wolves, conceding 238 goals, keeping 117 clean sheets and winning one Premier League title along the way.
In comparison, having been in England for a year longer, Ederson has featured in 339 matches, conceding 263 goals, keeping 157 clean sheets and winning six league trophies.
Alisson isn’t the only person connected to Liverpool to share their praise for the City star, as former Reds midfielder Danny Murphy said that Ederson is “the best footballing goalkeeper” of all time.
This backs up what Alisson said about Ederson being cool with his feet and how he sees this aspect of the game as something he could improve on.
With the duo spending such a significant amount of time in England and taking into account how crucial they’ve been for their respective sides who have enjoyed a lot of success along the way, they should be seen as two of the best goalkeepers in Premier League history.
