Ederson has been speaking about the challenges he faces under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
The Brazil international made the comments when speaking to Globo Esporte.
So, what did Ederson say about life at Manchester City? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the £34.7m glovesman admitted he finds it hard to stay focused 100% of the time under Guardiola, given the fact Manchester City usually dominate opponents and limit them to very few shots.
However, Ederson revealed that he has been doing “cognitive work” to help him with this issue.
The Manchester City No.31 said: “Concentrating for 90 minutes and not having a single ball arrive is much more difficult than when there are more of them.
“Staying focused all the time is very difficult. I’ve experienced that at City. I’ve added cognitive work that helps work my brain. This is work that I’ve brought into my career and my professional life that has helped me a lot.”

It must be quite boring for any goalkeeper starting in a Guardiola side – that is perhaps why Ederson sometimes comes racing off his line to play in central midfield!
Work is paying off for Ederson at Manchester City
Whatever “cognitive work” Ederson is doing at Manchester City, it seems to be paying off.
The South American has developed into a much more reliable goalkeeper in recent years, with his stunning display in the UEFA Champions League final win over Inter Milan evidence of that.

That game showcased a different side to Ederson, as he stepped up to deliver a true goalkeeping masterclass in a more traditional sense, as opposed to catching the attention with his footwork.
Hopefully, the 30-year-old can maintain his strong form in between the sticks, and fire Manchester City to more silverware this season after last term’s historic treble.
