Manchester City defender Sergio Gomez has shared how much he has enjoyed working with Pep Guardiola.
The left-back is currently gearing up for his second season at the Manchester club after winning the treble at the end of his debut campaign.
With the Premier League season set to kick off in the next couple of weeks, one of City’s most recent recruits has been reflecting on his time at the club so far and working with one person in particular.
Gomez praises Guardiola

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Gomez had this to say about what it has been like to work with and learn from the City manager.
He said: “With Pep [Guardiola] you learn every day. He is always helping you. He creates new challenges every day for us. He always helps you both on the pitch and off. It helps us a lot in every way.”
City signed the full-back from Anderlecht last summer in a deal worth a reported fee of £11m.
Across his debut season at the Etihad Stadium, the Spaniard made 23 appearances across all competitions, starting 10 of them.

Despite not being a regular starter in the team last season, it’s still positive to hear how much the 22-year-old has enjoyed learning from Guardiola since his arrival.
Interestingly, the defender played in the left-wing role during City’s recent 2-1 pre-season win over Bayern Munich after replacing Jack Grealish, which could suggest that this may be a position he could find himself in rather than in defence.
Moving forward, looking ahead to the upcoming season, if Gomez can take what he’s learned from his manager and use that on the pitch when given the chance, he could end up getting more minutes under his belt throughout the campaign and become more of a prominent figure in the team.
