While a lot of eyes were on England’s game with Scotland last night, another Manchester City player was in action in the form of new signing Jeremy Doku.
While Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Kalvin Phillips were in Three Lions action, the winger started for Belgium in their Euro 2024 qualifier against Estonia.
Doku played the full match – and really caught the eye for his country.
This was a performance he probably needed.
Doku made his debut for City against Fulham just before the international break.
He wasn’t bad by any means. But he did look like a young player making his first ever appearance in the Premier League at times.
Doku was a little hard on himself after that game.
But against Estonia yesterday he really impressed.
Man City winger Jeremy Doku sends Pep Guardiola a message and shines bright against Estonia
This was a chance for Doku to really send a message to Pep Guardiola.
With Jack Grealish having been injured, there is potential for him to play again out wide after the international break.
And it looks like will be coming back to City with a bit of momentum going for him.

Against Estonia, Doku completed 41/54 passes (75% accuracy). He won an impressive 8/11 duels, which was the most of any player in the match (via Sofascore).
Doku also completed 6/8 duels, which was by far and away the most of any player in the match.
Perhaps most impressive of all, Doku made five key passes. That was more than double the next highest player.
And Doku – described as ‘an amazing talent’ by Julien Laurens – finished with one assist to his name.
Belgian publication Walfoot stated that he was Man of the Match.
