Nedum Onuoha has said that Manchester City star Rodri is one of the best midfielders in the world at the moment.
The Spaniard recently lifted his latest piece of silverware with the Citizens after helping them beat Sevilla on penalties in the Super Cup final.
Prior to the midweek clash in Athens, the 27-year-old found himself on the end of some significant praise from one former City player.
Onuoha raves over Rodri

Speaking in a pre-match live stream on the club’s YouTube channel, Onuoha had this to say about Rodri.
He said: “He is one of the best in the world, the fact that he scored the winner in the Champions League final last year, amazing.

“What a season he had and was he player of the tournament as well? Not bad for a number six, is it?”
Last season saw the midfielder play more minutes in the Premier League than any other outfield City player as well as starting 11 of the 12 Champions League games he featured in.
This showcases just how vital the Spain international is for Pep Guardiola and his side.
Looking back to the win over Sevilla, Rodri played through the entire game and provided the assist for Cole Palmer’s crucial equaliser.

In addition to that, the midfielder made more key passes (5) and won more duels (12) than any other City player on the night, showing how effective he in on and off the ball.
His performance ultimately earned Rodri an overall match rating of 8.7/10 from SofaScore, making him the highest-rated City player on the day.
This mirrors his efforts against Burnley in City’s first game of the Premier League campaign where he picked up a match rating of 9.2/10 from SofaScore.
Taking all of that into account, it’s safe to say that the midfielder has had a strong start to his latest season at City and fully deserves Onuoha’s praise.
