Joao Cancelo has explained why he celebrated ‘angrily’ after scoring for Portugal against Bosnia last night.
The Selecao ran out easy 5-0 winners in Zenica, with Portugal continuing their absolute dominance of their Euro 2024 qualifying group.
Portugal, who have already qualified for next summer’s finals, are eight wins from eight.
They have scored a very impressive 32 goals, conceding just two.
Last night’s game was a real stroll for Portugal, with all five of the goals coming in the first-half.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring from the penalty spot, and he also got a second on 20 minutes.
Further goals came from Bruno Fernandes, Cancelo and Joao Felix.
There was an interesting moment when Cancelo scored.
The Manchester City full-back – on loan at Barcelona – was very intense in his celebration, and the star has now explained why that was…
Joao Cancelo explains ‘angry’ celebration for Portugal against Bosnia
There is always a lot of talk about Cancelo.

His exit from City back in January of this year was complicated, and there was a lot of speculation about a potential rift with Pep Guardiola.
Obviously he left the club on loan again in the summer, suggesting all is not well between the pair.
Cancelo – whom City signed for a reported £60 million – took aim at his critics after last night’s game, as he spoke about his celebration against Bosnia.
He said (via SPORT): “The celebration was with anger because things happen that are not related to football and what I have done is value myself. It was a white-glove slap in the face for those who criticise me.”
“I’ve always been a professional wherever I’ve been. There are those who sell an image of me that is not true. I have a good heart and I do everything I can to help the Portugal national team and Barça.”
Cancelo seemingly riled at the moment
It is interesting to hear this from Cancelo, who appears to be a little fed up at the moment.
He does get talked about quite a lot. Just recently, a video circulated showing him being snappy with some young fans as they sought pictures and autographs.
No one knows his experience, but he is clearly a little tired of the speculation that seems to follow him away from the pitch.

Hopefully he’s able to block everything out and just do his thing for Barcelona and Portugal.
His goal last night was superbly taken, arriving on the edge of the box and curling the ball first time into the top corner.
