Manchester City have a plethora of top-level players in their squad.

Having won four Premier League trophies in a row and then seeing more players from their squad get picked to feature in the 2024 European Championship than any other top-flight side, this highlights the strength and quality City have in their ranks.

With another Premier League campaign approaching, one current top-flight star has pinpointed one figure from Pep Guardiola’s squad who he would love to see join his side.

Anthony Gordon says he’d sign Kevin De Bruyne for Newcastle

Appearing in a recent video shared on the Fubo YouTube channel, Anthony Gordon was asked which player he’d sign for Newcastle United.

In response, the winger had this to say.

He said: “I’d have to go Kevin De Bruyne, I think.

“I think I’d get a lot more one-on-one chances just for his special ability to play through passes.”

Every club would want to sign De Bruyne

De Bruyne joined City back in the 2015 summer transfer window from Wolfsburg in a deal worth a reported fee of £54m.

During his time at the Manchester club, the midfielder has scored 102 goals and delivered 170 assists in 382 appearances across all competitions.

Having racked up the second-highest total of assists (112) in Premier League history, it’s easy to see why Gordon, who bagged 11 goals in 35 league games last season, would love to have the City star as a teammate.

In fact, Gordon isn’t the only person with a connection to Newcastle who has said how much he’d love to play with De Bruyne, as Alan Shearer called the Belgian his dream teammate back in June.

In our view, given how effective he has proven himself to be in terms of delivering goal contributions from midfield, it wouldn’t just be Gordon who would relish the chance to have De Bruyne in their team.
