‘Are you completely serious?’… Rodri is not having what Man City players have said about him

Rodri is one of the best footballers in the world – but in the eyes of some of his teammates, he has the worst taste in music in the Manchester City dressing room.

The Spaniard’s status in the game has grown a huge amount over the last couple of years, and in the last year especially, as he played a key role in City’s surge to an historic Treble.

The star put in many top performances last term, and of course, scored the only goal of the game in the Champions League final against Inter.

For many, he is already a City legend for that night in Istanbul, and he is just as loved in the dressing room as he is by fans.

Although some do not rate Rodri‘s taste in music…

Rodri sat down with the Mirror for an exclusive interview about various topics.

The Spain international also gave his thoughts about the upcoming Euros, and he believes that England and France are the favourites.

But at one point, Rodri – who was branded ‘an incredible professional by Pep Guardiola – is told about Jack Grealish naming him as ‘the worst dressed’ Manchester City player.

This was something he was aware of but batted it away, rightly suggesting that he does not need to dress fancy coming to training.

But Rodri is then informed that some players in the City squad have also said he’s got the worst taste in music, which left him taken a little aback.

He said: “Worst music also? Are you completely serious?! What you listen to in here, like trap, rap everything, I don’t like that stuff.

“I am pop guy, pop reggaeton, normal!”

Never change, Rodri

So Grealish thinks Rodri is the worst dressed and some players in the squad believe he has the worst music taste.

Perhaps this will be a slight dent to the player’s pride, but at least he can confidently say that he is one of City’s best players and one of the very best players in the world regardless of position.

Barcelona sporting director Deco also suggested earlier this week he was the closest thing to a prime Sergio Busquets, which is a huge compliment.

Rodri has developed into the finest holding midfielder in the game today and it’s scary to think that he is still only 27 years old.

He is only now just coming into his peak years, and goodness knows what kind of level he will be at in a few more years.
