Arsenal fans react as Rodri rules himself out of Emirates clash after getting a red card for Manchester City

Manchester City will be without Rodri for their game against Arsenal next month following his red card against Nottingham Forest.

The Spaniard has been an ever-present for City in the last couple of years.

He has developed into the best holding midfielder in the world, and is absolutely adored by Pep Guardiola and the City faithful.

Yesterday against Nottingham Forest, he was going about his business as usual – dominating the game at the base of the midfield.

But at the start of the second-half, he got into a scuffle with Morgan Gibbs-White.

He lost his head, and placed his hands at the base of his neck.

While there was no real force, Rodri gave referee Anthony Taylor little choice but to send him off. It was something that completely baffled Danny Murphy.

As it was violent conduct, Rodri will now miss City’s next three games.

He’ll miss the Carabao Cup clash with Newcastle United, the next Premier League game against Wolves and then the game with Arsenal at the Emirates on October 8.

And it’s safe to say Arsenal fans are delighted he won’t be able to feature…
