Manchester City are reportedly set to see Rico Lewis put pen to paper on a new contract at the club in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week, it was reported that Nathan Ake is in line to get a new and improved deal come his way following his efforts in the team last season.
Now though, another figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad will be pledging his long-term future to the Citizens.
Lewis to sign mega-money City deal

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Lewis will officially sign the new deal, which is five years plus an option for a further season, at some point over the next weeks, as will Ake.
The report also adds that Lewis’ salary will be increasing by around five times and that several European clubs had been watching developments closely after talks started earlier in the year.
Last season saw the 18-year-old feature in 23 senior games for City across all competitions, starting 16 of them, 10 of which came in the Premier League.

This shows how much faith Guardiola, who has described the teenager as a “special” player, has in him and why the club are looking to tie his future down.
The Englishman recently played the first 45 minutes of City’s 2-1 pre-season win over Bayern Munich in Japan where he earned himself an overall match rating of 7/10 from SofaScore, making him the third-highest rated player to start the game for the Citizens.
Moving forward, once he does end up signing his proposed new deal at the Etihad Stadium, if the youngster can continue to get more time under his belt in the first team next season, there’s no doubt he’ll keep on developing and improving his game where he could then go on to become a regular starter.
