Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva delivered a top performance in his latest Premier League match.

Following on from their 3-0 win over Manchester United last weekend, the Citizens beat Bournemouth 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium this time around, taking them a step closer to potentially regaining their Premier League title.

While Jeremy Doku will get a lot of headlines for not only getting the first goal of the game but also racking up four assists in total, one figure who we feel deserves a lot of praise as well on this occasion is Silva.

With 85 minutes under his belt, the Portuguese international scored two goals on the day, the first of which came in the 33rd minute to double City’s lead and the second coming in the 83rd minute to put the home side 5-1 up.

Having scored two goals from just four shots in total throughout the game, Silva also managed to show in other areas how effective he can be for his side in an attacking sense.

For example, the 29-year-old made three key passes and successfully completed the one dribble he attempted, showcasing how much of a nuisance he was for the Cherries to deal with defensively.

This display ultimately earned the midfielder an overall match rating of 9.3/10 from SofaScore, making him the second-highest-rated player on the day behind the dazzling Doku.

The Manchester Evening News also picked up on the Portuguese International’s efforts by saying in their player ratings article that he “picked up where he left off at Old Trafford running the game and his second goal was a sumptuous finish.”

Moving forward, if Silva can continue to deliver performances like this on a regular basis, he’ll certainly put his side in with a great chance of winning more trophies.
