Manchester City have one of the strongest squads in Europe with a significant number of top-level players.
Having won four Premier League trophies in a row and then have more players from their ranks (14) selected to feature in the 2024 European Championship than any other side in the Premier League, it’s undeniable that Pep Guardiola has some of the best players in the world in his squad.
In fact, one former top-flight star has pinpointed one particular player in the City ranks and praised him for one specific aspect of his game.

Asmir Begovic says Ederson is the best in Premier League history at one particular thing
Appearing in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel, Begovic was asked to build his ultimate goalkeeper by selecting current and former Premier League shot-stoppers based on certain traits.
When asked to pick the goalkeeper he thinks has the best distribution in Premier League history, Begovic chose Ederson.
Ederson’s distribution has been a key weapon for City
Back in the 2017 summer transfer window, City paid £35m to sign Ederson from Benfica.
Since then, the 30-year-old has gone on to make 332 appearances for the Blues across all competitions, keeping 155 clean sheets in the process.
In terms of Ederson’s distribution, Guardiola told City’s official website back in 2021 that it is the best he’s ever seen from any goalkeeper.
In addition to that, Danny Murphy said earlier this year that Ederson’s ability to accurately move the ball around the pitch with his feet is a unique weapon that City have.
Looking back over the previous Premier League season, the Brazil international ended the campaign with the highest percentage (46.3%) of launched passes over 40 yards completed in the entire division.
Taking all of that on board, it should come as no surprise that Begovic picked the City star on this occasion.
