Aston Villa have reportedly made two bids to sign former Manchester City starlet Morgan Rogers.
The winger joined Middlesbrough during the previous summer transfer window after spending just under four years at City in their youth ranks.
Now though, one top-flight club have been doing their best to try and get their hands on the 21-year-old.
Villa send two bids to sign Rogers

In a recent Twitter post, journalist John Townley had this to say on the matter.
He said: “Morgan Rogers is only six months into a four-year contract at Middlesbrough, but will be allowed to leave for #AVFC if his valuation is met. If an agreement is struck, it would be the fourth transfer dealing between Villa and Boro in 12 months. Two bids turned down so far.”
This has since been followed up with a post from City journalist Simon Bajkowski, who had this to add to the situation.
He said: “A quiet January window for #mcfc may end up with a small bonus as Aston Villa chase Morgan Rogers. City sold at a loss in summer but inserted a hefty sell-on in case something like this happened.”
During his time at the Manchester club, the 21-year-old, who they signed from West Bromwich Albion’s youth academy in 2019, made 37 appearances in total, scoring nine goals and providing five assists along the way.
Despite not making a single senior appearance for the Citizens, the club sold Rogers to Middlesbrough last summer.
Described as a “terrific” player by Mick McCarthy, the winger has since scored six goals and supplied eight assists in 31 appearances for his current club.
Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see if Villa persist with their interest in the former City starlet and end up striking a deal with Middlesbrough to sign him.
If that were to happen, while the Citizens would get a fee from their sell-on clause, they could well end up regretting selling him in the first place if he goes on to be a success at Villa Park.
