Erling Haaland is not the only injured player at Manchester City after the 6-1 win against Bournemouth.
The Norway international was taken off in place of Phil Foden at the interval, and it remains to be seen just how bad the problem is.
However, Erling Haaland is not the only casualty at Manchester City…
What’s the story?
Well – as reported by Joe Bray of the Manchester Evening News – Sergio Gomez arrived at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday supported by crutches.
The journalist wrote: “Sergio Gomez arrives at the Etihad on crutches. No other surprises in the squad.”
Manchester City’s No.21 has not played much football recently – being left on the bench in each of the last five Premier League outings before Saturday’s win over Bournemouth.
Therefore, Gomez may have suffered his injury in training as a result of rustiness, with little match fitness under his belt.

So far this season, the £11m man has made just five appearances in all competitions, providing one assist – which came in Premier League action.
Ultimately – with all due respect to Gomez – many will be more concerned by Haaland’s issue, given the Manchester City No.9’s importance to Guardiola.
Manchester City have time to rest Haaland
As aforesaid, it remains to be seen just how severe Haaland’s injury is.
However, Manchester City fortunately have a bit of time to rest the 23-year-old.

The next fixture on the schedule for Guardiola is a UEFA Champions League clash against BSC Young Boys at the Etihad Stadium, a game you would expect the treble winners to be able to handle without Haaland.
In our view, Manchester City will just be hoping that the Norwegian is fit for the trip to Chelsea on Sunday 12th November – a showpiece event in the Premier League.
Hopefully, both Haaland and Gomez are back to full fitness soon.
