Bastian Schweinsteiger had a legendary career in football and has lined up alongside some of the best players the sport has ever seen.
The German star spent the majority of his career with Bayern Munich having come through the Bavarian outfit’s academy, spending a total of 17 years with the German giants between 1998 and 2015 before moving to Manchester United.
Schweinsteiger won every trophy possible in Germany, which included two Bundesliga titles and a DFB Pokal under the current Man City boss Pep Guardiola.
Whilst at Bayern Munich, the German star had some impressive teammates and the 40-year-old has now stated that a former Man City star is one of the best players he has played with.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is a fan of Jerome Boateng
Ahead of this week’s Champions League semi-final second legs, Schweinsteiger was asked to pick his best 11 using only his former teammates, which is a competition the German loves having won it in 2013, while he predicted Man City to reach the final in 2023, which came true.
As expected, the 40-year-old’s team was made up mostly of former Bayern Munich players and at the back, he went with a centre-back pairing of Holger Badstuber and former Man City star Jerome Boateng.
Boateng played for several clubs throughout his playing days, but his career peaked whilst at Bayern, where he won every trophy possible alongside Schweinsteiger.
The German defender spent time at Man City before he made the switch to Munich, however, his time in Manchester was not so successful.
What happened to Jerome Boateng at Man City
Man City acquired Boateng from Hambyrger SV during the summer of 2010 as part of a £10.5m deal, however, things would not work out for the centre-back at the Etihad Stadium.
The defender had an issue from the get-go as ahead of the Premeir League season getting underway, he suffered an injury setback on international duty with Germany during a friendly against Denmark, where he tore a tendon in his left knee.
Boateng would go on to play 24 times for City that season; however, by the end of the 2010/11 campaign, the German was keen to leave Manchester.
He did so successfully as Bayern Munich would sign the defender as part of a £12m (€14m) deal, which is what the player wanted as he believed at the time t would increase his chances of playing for the German National Team.
Selling Boateng was not a big error from Man City, even if the player went on to have a top career. The German star did not have a key role in Manchester, and it was normal that he wanted a move elsewhere to help him achieve his dream of playing for his country.
