Bayern Munich have reportedly held talks with the representatives of Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega over a potential transfer deal.
The Manchester club signed the shot-stopper as a free agent on a three-year deal last summer from Arminia Bielefeld.
Even though he’s only just started his second season at the Etihad Stadium, the 30-year-old has already been linked with a move back to Germany with Bayern, who recently failed in their attempts to lure Kyle Walker to the Allianz Arena.
Bayern eyeing Ortega transfer

In a recent Twitter post, journalist Florian Plettenberg had this to say on the situation.
He said: “Excl. News Stefan #Ortega: He’s a new top option for FC Bayern now! Bosses have discussed him.

“Talks with the player’s camp took place in the last days. [Pep] Guardiola, very confident with Ortega; #MCFC considering to extend beyond 2025.
“Decision to join Bayern, up to Ortega. Bayern still wants to replace [Yann] Sommer. Despite of very good performances of [Sven] Ulreich.”
Across his debut season with City, the German featured in all of the club’s FA Cup and Carabao Cup games, as well as two Champions League matches and three Premier League games.

Throughout his 14 appearances last season, Ortega managed to keep nine clean sheets and concede just seven goals.
In fact, having featured in all six of City’s FA Cup matches, the goalkeeper ended up saving all 10 of the shots on target he faced throughout the tournament, making him the only shot-stopper that featured in more than two FA Cup games to have a 100% save percentage.
This makes it easy to see why Guardiola apparently has confidence in Ortega and presumably would not want to see him leave City this summer.
Moving forward, we feel that the Manchester club should have no intention of allowing the German to leave in the coming weeks and should do all they can to convince him to stay where he is and continue to help the club regain the titles he helped them win last season.
