Bayern Munich stars Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane reportedly had a bust-up after last night’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’s side put in one of their best performances of the season to take total control of the tie.
Rodri opened the scoring for City with a cracking strike from distance with his left foot.
Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland then added goals in the second-half. The result has given Bayern a mountain to climb in the second leg.
Bayern did not actually play badly in the game.
They did create chances and forced Ederson to make saves and City to defend well.
It was just that City really punished mistakes from the German side and were clinical.
One of Bayern’s brightest sparks in the game was former City winger Sane.
He tested Ederson from range, and was lively for the German giants on his return to the Etihad.
But the 27-year-old now finds himself at the centre of a bust-up story.
BILD have claimed this afternoon that Sane and former Liverpool winger Mane had an altercation in the dressing room after the game.
It apparently stemmed from a bickering they had on the pitch around the 83rd minute, which is documented by photos. BILD say there was then a ‘short, loud discussion in the dressing room’.
Mane apparently complained about the way Sane spoke to him. And it is even alleged Mane gave Sane a slap. And eyewitnesses claim this left a mark on Sane’s face.
Bayern’s response to alleged Leroy Sane and Sadio Mane bust-up will be interesting
This is quite the claim from BILD.
City’s brilliance in the last 20 minutes or so of last night’s game might have led to some high tension in the Bayern team.
It is a shame to hear about a bust-up, especially involving a former City player.
It will now be very interesting to see what comes of this situation.
BILD say at the end of their article that it’s possible Mane could get fined for his actions.
Their claims about what happened are pretty strong. So it will be very interesting to see if Mane or Sane or both are missing from their squad this weekend for the game against Hoffenheim.
