Manchester City secured another win in the Premier League on Saturday to keep themselves at the top of the table.
Having beat Chelsea and Ipswich Town, Pep Guardiola’s side picked up all three points with a 3-1 away victory against West Ham United.
Erling Haaland fired in all three goals to help City win their third league game in a row this season, making it his second hat-trick of the campaign.
Despite this impressive feat from the Norwegian, another figure in the City side found himself being spoken about for one specific thing he did in the match which caught the attention of a pundit and former top-flight player.

Ben Foster says Kevin De Bruyne did something ‘sneaky’ in Man City vs West Ham
In a recent video shared on his YouTube channel, Ben Foster had this to say about the shot at goal Kevin De Bruyne had in the first half of City’s match against the Hammers to try and catch Alphonse Areola out at his near post.
He said: “He’s a joke, honestly, he’s a joke.
“I’m all for being a brave goalkeeper and taking a bit more than what you should to try and pre-empt a save.
“And even a lot of players would see you in that brave position and it will change their mind and make them go ultra-safe and not put it anywhere near you.
“But if Kevin De Bruyne sees you in that situation, he goes, well I’m going to take the [mickey] out of you then and that’s what he does, he’ll try and whip it into that near post.
“He’s so clever with it as well, so, so clever because he doesn’t need much backlift either, he can just [get it] out of his feet and bang and he knows where it is.
“He’s not looking but you know he’s looking as well. Such a weasel, sneaky, sneaky weasel is what he is.”
De Bruyne’s shot at Areola showed his quick thinking and ingenuity
After the game in East London, De Bruyne said that Haaland is probably the most clinical striker he’s played with.
In 88 minutes against the Hammers, De Bruyne had 108 touches of the ball in total, racking up six key passes and four shots at goal, one of which hit the woodwork.
The Belgian’s overall performance earned him a strong match rating of 8.4/10 from SofaScore, making him the second-highest-rated City player on the day behind Haaland.
Even though the shot from De Bruyne that Foster spoke about didn’t end up beating Areola, the fact that he attempted it unexpectedly shows just how quick he is when it comes to identifying and executing an attempt at goal.
